The Dive Centre - open daily from 8am to 5pm - is located right next to the Kaena Restaurant & Aroa Sixtieleven Store on the South West side (the best spot to watch the sun go down) at The Aroa Beach & Marine Reserve (look for "The big fish").
Rarotonga's clear, warm waters with fantastic visibility and diversity of marine life make it excellent for diving and snorkelling. If you've never been diving before there are PADI qualified experienced instructors at The Dive Centre - who can give expert instruction and reasonable tuition rates.
Usual water temperatures range between 23 - 33 degrees Celsius and a average visibility up to 60 meters.
A welcome feature of diving off Rarotonga with the Dive Centre are the short trips in purpose-built boats - often no more than 10 minutes to superb dive sites - and as the island of Rarotonga is circular there are almost always sheltered spots for diving with good visibility. You will be taken to the best site of the day.
We offer a range of dive options from the Lagoon Dive (especially for beginners in 2-2 1/2 meter shallow water with tons of fish), Discover Scuba Lagoon Dive also for beginners (but with a real boat dive on top to the lagoon dive), morning and afternoon dive trips beyond the reef, night dives for the more adventurous and PADI Dive Courses including a 2 day certification course (ideal for those with limited time) qualifying you to dive with a professional diver, plus the Open Water Diver course, Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, and Dive Master.
We also provide snorkel hire and a good assortment of gear in the retail shop.
Sheryl and Hew sold us the shop in March 2007 so ...
Now we are in our second month and it's starts to get really busy...
